Alumni gathering in Wyoming draws enthusiasm

Enthusiasm was high at the UNMC College of Dentistry Alumni Association Reception held during the Wyoming Dental Association Annual Session on June 5 in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Dean Gerry Kugel, DMD, PhD, provided attendees with a comprehensive update on the UNMC College of Dentistry, highlighting current initiatives, accomplishments and future directions.

Alumni arrived early and stayed late, the collective group interacting well beyond the reception’s scheduled conclusion time, reported Dub Vogt, DDS, associate dean for student affairs, admissions, alumni and external relations.

In fact, the only thing that finally broke up the gathering was that the room’s air conditioning was eventually turned off. (An encouraging hint from the hotel to consider wrapping up?)

But the group took it in stride, calling it a night, and calling the event a success, Dr. Vogt said.

“It served as another reminder of the strong connection our alumni maintain with their alma mater,” he said. “We are already looking forward to next year’s reception.”

The college regularly takes part in similar get-togethers throughout the state and in states where a notable number of alums reside.

“Events such as this provide a valuable opportunity for the college to reconnect with our alumni, strengthen relationships, and share updates on the college’s continued growth and success,” Dr. Vogt said.
