State Senator Rick Holdcroft of Bellevue, who represents District 36 in the Nebraska Legislature, visited UNMC on July 7.
Sen. Holdcroft, who visited with Jeff Kratz, UNMC’s director of government relations, and met with UNMC Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, received two tours at the Davis Global Center.
On the first, Jaime Boyko, community engagement coordinator for iEXCEL, showed Sen. Holdcroft the highlights of UNMC’s cutting-edge medical simulation program, including the holographic theater, interactive iWall screens and some of the surgical simulation technology.
Then Dossy Felts, associate director of administration and operations for the Global Center for Health Security, led a tour of the Training, Simulation and Quarantine Center housed at the Davis Global Center.
Sen. Holdcroft said UNMC is setting the pace for the future of medical training, and state senators in the Unicameral are very proud of UNMC.
“We have some of the best facilities in the nation,” he said, “particularly when it comes to cancer care and research and development, and people come to Nebraska just to be close to UNMC and the medical facilities.”
