UNMC’s Nagamani Narayana, DMD, will be one of the featured panelists are the UNMC College of Dentistry hosts “HPV: Learn. Prevent. Advocate” on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from noon to 1 p.m. in Dixon Auditorium, UNMC College of Dentistry.
The event, co-hosted by Bryan Health’s April Sampson Cancer Center in partnership with the UNL Nebraska Center for Virology, offers healthcare professionals, students, patient advocates, survivors and community members a look at oral cancer prevention and the role HPV vaccination and screening play in reducing risk.
Other speakers include Peter Angletti, PhD, of the UNL Nebraska Center for Virology; and oral cancer survivor Scott Wieskamp, who will share his personal advocacy perspective. Topics will include cancer awareness, HPV’s connection to cancer, prevention and early detection, and protecting yourself and loved ones.
