The SonoSim ultrasound training model

During a recent trip to Thai Binh Medical University (TBMU) in Vietnam, UNMC donated a SonoSim ultrasound training model to the university for future collaborative simulation teaching sessions. The SonoSim ultrasound training model was recently integrated into the education of medical students here at UNMC. With this donated gift, students at TBMU will be able to participate the same training modules written by UNMC faculty. The SonoSim was purchased with grant funds and gifted to TBMU after a brief demonstration by
Wes Zeger, D.O. There was great interest in the SonoSim from the faculty and students as “they were wide-eyed and very attentive during the demonstration” said Zeger. During their return trip to TBMU in January, the team will continue to train faculty members at TBMU on the utilization of the training model. UNMC and TBMU are engaged in a collaboration to discuss principles of emergency medicine.
