Due to a change in his production schedule, Adam Savage, co-host and executive producer of Discovery Channel’s “Mythbusters,” no longer will headline the Nebraska Science Festival in April.
SciFest organizers soon will announce a new keynote speaker for the April 25 presentation at Joslyn Museum’s Witherspoon Concert Hall, as well as a new ticket release date. Tickets for Savage had planned to be released Jan. 25 at the Joslyn Museum, but will be rescheduled. Check the Scifest website and Facebook page, as well as local media, for updates.
The 7:30 p.m. keynote presentation on April 25 is free to the public (but requires a reserved ticket) and is suitable for ages 12 and older. Tickets for the general admission seating (a maximum of two per person) will continue to be on a first-come, first-served basis.
The second annual Nebraska Science Festival — scheduled for April 24-27 — features an array of science- and technology-related activities. SciFest programming will extend from Omaha into Lincoln this year as it builds toward being a statewide celebration.
Presented by UNMC, the Nebraska Science Festival is a growing collaboration interested in the advancement of science literacy. The Science Festival is designed to make science accessible, interactive, relevant and fun for kids and adults alike.
