Fire extinguisher training offered to employees

Fire extinguisher training will be offered to all employees from Sept. 29 to Oct. 3.

Employees will get to use a fire extinguisher under controlled conditions with the instruction of The Nebraska Medical Center’s Safety Operations Department.

Registration is not required for the event. It is intended primarily for new employees, but employees who have not had fire extinguisher training or would like a refresher course are invited, as well.

Demonstrations will be held at the following times and locations:

Sept. 29: 7 to 10 a.m., East Campus Corporate Pavilion, parking lot just west of ECCP building (Mutual of Omaha).
Sept. 30: 7 to 11 a.m. and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Clarkson Tower, outside of radiology/oncology entrance on the ground level inside the parking structure.
Oct. 1: 7 to 11 a.m. and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Clarkson Tower, outside of radiology/oncology entrance on the ground level inside the parking structure.
Oct. 2: 7 to 11 a.m. and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Clarkson Tower, outside of radiology/oncology entrance on the ground level inside the parking structure.
Oct. 3: 7 to 10 a.m., Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital/Clarkson West Medical Center, outside the cafeteria on the ground level.

The presentation and fire extinguisher demonstrations will take approximately five minutes, and employees are encouraged to come at their convenience during the demonstration times.
