Corporate Cycling Challenge set for Sunday

It’s not too late to help UNMC/Nebraska Medicine defend its 2014 title as the Corporate Cycling Challenge champions when the event is held this Sunday.

In 2014, the med center team was the Division AAA and overall winner.

The bike tour (it’s not a race) attracts cyclists of all abilities for tours of 10, 25 or 42 miles. Nebraska’s largest single day cycling event is free for employees to participate and costs only $5 for family members to ride.

Registration
Registration will be available at the UNMC/Nebraska Medicine booth near the event’s starting line at Omaha’s Heartland of America Park at 8th and Farnam streets until 8:30 a.m. the morning of the ride. Registration forms also can be turned in to the Center for Healthy Living until 5 p.m. on Friday. Registration forms can be printed here.

Routes
Participants may choose to ride:

  • The Olde River Ride (10 miles).
  • Riverside Ride (25 miles).
  • Tour De Fort (42 miles).

Points and prizes

The winner in each corporate division of the challenge is based on the number of total employee miles ridden, with miles logged by employee family members counting half toward the organization’s total.
