‘Minute of Silence’ honors 9/11 fallen, responders

Today is the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in 2001. In observation of the date, UNMC will join other Omaha organizations and businesses in observing a minute of silence at 9:11 a.m.

In 2014, Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert proclaimed 9:11 a.m. on every Sept. 11 to follow to be the official annual minute of silence for the City of Omaha.

“UNMC is honored to join with the city of Omaha for its second annual Minute of Silence remembrance ceremony to pay respects to the victims of 9/11 and show appreciation for our local first responders,” said Aileen Warren, assistant vice chancellor for human resources.
