Rebecca Seeba, a second-year pharmacy student at UNMC, recently won the American Pharmacists Association (APhA)-Academy of Student Pharmacists (ASP) National Patient Counseling Competition.

The contest was held last month at the 2007 APhA Annual Meeting in Atlanta.

Seeba was the College of Pharmacy’s representative in the national competition after winning its ASP Chapter competition. ASP is the largest student professional organization in the college with nearly every UNMC pharmacy student registered as a member.

Before this year, the highest finishes by a UNMC student in the national competition were a first runner-up in 2000 and second runner-up in 1999.

Seeba graduated from Millard South High School and completed her pre-pharmacy coursework at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her father, Dale, is a 1974 College of Pharmacy graduate.
