Donald Leopold, M.D., left, chairman of the UNMC Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, presents a gift to Dr. Hedayatullah Salehi of Kabul, Afghanistan, during a luncheon last week. Dr. Salehi and four colleagues from Afghanistan recently visited UNMC to learn about and observe physician-student interactions. Dr. Salehi is a skilled ENT physician who has observed in the ENT clinic and in the operating room and has even contributed to clinical discussions. At last week’s luncheon, the ENT department presented Dr. Salehi DVDs of various sinus surgeries to use as teaching tools and Frenzyl glasses to use when evaluating patients with vestibular complaints. The Frenzyl glasses, which he saw used in clinic, are not available to him in Afghanistan. |
