Troop No. 2409 of the Great Plains Girl Scouts recently donated brightly colored blankets and hats to patients and their families at UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center.

Eight junior Girls Scouts came to The Lied Transplant Center last Friday to donate the homemade blankets and knitted hats to transplant patients. The girls also are sponsoring and maintaining a toy box that will be available to children who come through the transplant center.

The project satisfies the community service portion of their Girl Scout training.
