Congressionally-directed funding proposals due July 25

The Office of Government Relations is accepting proposals for Congressionally-directed funding until Friday, July 25.

Commonly called earmarks, congressionally-directed funding is a line-item in a federal appropriations bill that directs money to a specific organization for a specific purpose.

In academia, this funding helps level the playing field by providing access to research funds historically awarded to large institutions.

Congressionally-directed funding is competitive, and is limited to a select number of projects, which must align with the priorities of UNMC and the federal government.

The application form can be found at www.unmc.edu/dept/govtrelations and should be submitted to scizek@unmc.edu on or before July 25.

Questions should be directed to the Office of Government Relations at 559-6671.
