Todd Wyatt, Ph.D., associate professor in the department of internal medicine, shows Ken Haar a computer image of cilia and describes how the small, tail-like fibers work to keep disease and infection out of the lungs.

Haar is from Lincoln and is seeking election as the Nebraska Legislature’s District 21 representative. He toured Dr. Wyatt’s laboratory and other parts of the UNMC campus on Monday.
