Dr. Anderson to present tonight’s Science Cafe

Daniel Anderson, M.D., Ph.D.

Dan Anderson, M.D, Ph.D., assistant professor of cardiology, will present “Diet, Exercise, Inflammation and Heart Disease: What’s the Connection” during a Science Cafe today at 7 p.m. at the Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St. in Omaha.

Currently an electrophysiology staff member, Dr. Anderson is funded by the National American Heart Association to study and evaluate the inflammatory mechanisms of heart disease and the non-invasive detection of vascular injury.

Dr. Anderson’s personal journey with diet and exercise and his practice was featured in a news story on KETV in 2008.

Science Cafes are hosted by UNMC, BioNebraska and the Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures and are part of an effort to increase the population’s science literacy.

Those who attend tonight should arrive early as free pizza will be provided for the first 50 people by the Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures.
