Dr. McNeilly named medicine’s assistant dean for continuing education

Dennis McNeilly, Psy.D., has been named the College of Medicine’s assistant dean for continuing education.

In his new position, Dr. McNeilly will work with Lois Colburn, executive director of the Center for Continuing Education, to develop and evaluate the role of continuing education in the College of Medicine.

Dennis McNeilly, Psy.D.
Dr. McNeilly, associate professor and clinical geropsychologist in the department of psychiatry and director of medical student education in psychiatry, joined the UNMC faculty in 1999.

He is course director for the sophomore level psychiatry course for medical students.

He received the Outstanding Faculty Teacher of Medical Students Award in 2001 from the Department of Psychiatry.

Dr. McNeilly — whose clinical and research areas of interest include problem gambling in older adults — is the immediate past President of the National Council on Problem Gambling and the Secretary of the Nebraska State Committee on Problem Gambling.
