The UNMC College of Nursing will hold its 30th Annual Pharmacological Conference for Advanced Practice Providers July 17-19, with attendance options available in person at the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Scott Conference Center, from UNMC’s Kearney campus or online via Zoom.

The 30th conference is titled “Pharmacological Management of Clients Across the Lifespan” and is geared toward nurse practitioners, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, primary care providers and other interested health care professionals.

Continuing education credit is available and instructional sessions will:

  • Articulate current pharmacological trends, therapeutic innovations and updated evidence-based practices across multiple clinical areas.
  • Discuss clinical decision-making by applying principles of pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and patient-specific factors to medication management.
  • Identify potential risks associated with medications, including interactions, adverse effects and inappropriate use.
  • Describe patient-centered, interprofessional approaches to safe and effective medication use across the continuum of care.

Presentations will be conducted by experts from the fields of nursing, pharmacy, medicine, physician assistant and the Nebraska State Patrol.

The Saturday, July 19, session is in partnership with the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and will serve as a half-day pediatric pharmacology conference with four hours of continuing education credit. Single-session discounts are available for NAPNAP members.

The cost is $220 for the full conference or $120 for one day. Advanced practice practitioner students can access the conference via Zoom for free, but no continuing education credits will be provided.
