It’s not goodbye, it’s farewell

Jim Linder, MD, will step down as Nebraska Medicine CEO

On June 24, the Dr. Leland and Dorothy Olson Atrium in the Wigton Heritage Center filled with people who came to celebrate and honor Jim Linder, MD, for his work and leadership as CEO of Nebraska Medicine. It was announced in May that Dr. Linder would be handing the reins of the position to Michael Ash, MD, president-chief operating officer.

While Dr. Linder will step down as Nebraska Medicine CEO on July 1, he will remain a part of the Nebraska Medicine family and serve in an advisory role to the Nebraska Medicine Board of Directors.

“I don’t like the word ‘goodbye,'” Dr. Linder said. “One of my favorite authors always ended his letters with the notion of farewell, which is hoping each party fares well until they meet again.”
