Kyle Chattleton, PhD, an educator with The Durham Museum, will give a presentation at UNMC at noon on July 23 about the 1975 tornado in Omaha. The presentation will take place in the Sorrell Center, Room 2014.

May 6, 2025, marked the 50th anniversary of the F4 tornado that tore through Omaha. Dr. Chattleton will take a deep dive into the local history, reflecting on the tragedy and the community response in the aftermath.

The exhibit, “Nature’s Wrath: The 1975 Tornado,” currently is on view at the museum until Aug. 3.

The event is offered through the Time Travelers program, which provides free museum admission for UNMC employees, students and their immediate family with a valid identification badge, while also offering lectures on the med center campus.
