Dr. Jose Morcuende, MD, PhD, Professor of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, University of Iowa, and Director of the Ponseti International Association, visited the Clubfoot Clinic at Children’s Nebraska on April 14 and 15, 2025. His visit served as a meaningful follow-up to the Neubauer Fellowship Program and brought valuable opportunities for clinical collaboration and learning. Dr. Smitha E. Mathew, who heads the Clubfoot Clinic at Children’s Nebraska, was a Neubauer fellow under the direction of Dr. Morcuende in April 2024.
Dr. Morcuende observed patient care, engaged with our team, and shared valuable insights into best practices for treating clubfoot using the Ponseti Method. He also spoke at the orthopaedic grand rounds at UNMC on April 14. His visit reinforced the clinic’s leadership in pediatric orthopaedics, highlighted our commitment to excellence, innovation, and health equity in pediatric musculoskeletal care and strengthened our connection to a global network of providers dedicated to improving lives through evidence-based treatment.
