UNMC Human Resources will host an employee appreciation event for the Omaha campus today (Oct. 23) from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Center for Healthy Living. This event is sponsored by the UNMC Chancellor’s Office.
All UNMC employees are invited to attend this quarter’s event, “Here’s Looking at You.” It will feature academic unit stations celebrating UNMC employees, food and drink samples, entertainment, opportunities for prizes and more.
UNMC Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, and Linda Cunningham, assistant vice chancellor and director of human resources will share words of encouragement and thanks beginning at 2:15 p.m.
People who are attending should bring their UNMC ID to badge in. Doors open at 2 p.m.

At one of the informational booths, UNMC Human Resources’ office of learning and development will launch its re-branded employee learning and development program, The Pulse.
The Pulse courses will be open for registration in the Bridge app soon, via the Learning Library.
Upcoming sessions include:
- Digital literacy by UNMC’s Mike Kozak, available on demand.
These sessions will focus on five areas of digital literacy. Zoom sessions will be offered for a deeper dive, with a Q&A session on each digital literacy topic. - “Using Dialogue to Engage Impasse” by Patty Hawk, PhD, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Nov. 6.
Participants in this workshop will develop skills to successfully facilitate challenging dialogues in their classroom and workplace. - Accessibility in the workplace by Janell Petersen of Ability Tree, Nov. 12.
This course will address attitudinal barriers, person-first terminology, wheelchair etiquette, appropriate interactions, designing events with accessibility at the forefront. Includes a question and answer section.
