Monday, Nov. 17
Education Abroad Lunch and Learn: Winnie Ladu
Noon-1 p.m., UNMC College of Pharmacy, Room 1026
Learn about current UNMC medical students who have conducted research projects abroad. This event will feature Winnie Ladu, UNMC College of Medicine student in the class of 2028, who created a project titled “The Effects of Maternal Malnutrition on Birthing Outcomes – A Retrospective Study on Neonatal Survival in Kajokeji, South Sudan.” She will share her experience and her journey to establish her project partners abroad. Lunch will be provided for the first 30 participants. This event is co-sponsored by the UNMC Office of Global Engagement and Student Alliance for Global Health.

All students are welcome to attend and participate in our international parade, showcasing their home region and culture.
Salsa night
6 p.m., UNMC Center for Healthy Living
Nebraska Salsa Scene will give a one-hour introduction on how to salsa dance. The lesson will be followed by dancing and fun in the Center for Healthy Living. This event is co-sponsored by the International Student Association, Latino Medical Student Association and Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science.
Tuesday, Nov. 18
Culture Expo
11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wigton Heritage Center, fourth floor atrium
Celebrate the vibrant cultures of the UNMC community at the International Culture Expo. Explore cultural displays, foods, clothing, music and traditions from around the world, all shared by fellow students, faculty and staff. Walk through a global experience on campus and discover what makes each culture unique, while also finding the connections that bring people together. Sign up for more information here.

International Student Association Global Forum
12-1 p.m., Durham Research Center, Room 1002
Join the International Student Association for a session with international alumni. Dan Teet, UNMC Office of Global Engagement, will join the panel. Learn about other students’ experience navigating the job market after graduation and the challenges that are unique to international students.
Cricket introduction
6 p.m., UNMC Center for Healthy Living
Join us for a cricket introductory session with the Omaha Cricket Association at the UNMC Center for Healthy Living. Learn the basics of the international sport, how to bat, bowl and field from local cricket enthusiasts. No experience needed. Just bring curiosity, some energy and get ready to have fun.

Education Abroad Lunch and Learn: Scott Scholars
Noon-1 p.m., Sorrell Center, Room 2018
Learn about current UNMC medical students who participated in service projects abroad. This event will feature McKenna Gervais and Creighton Harrington, UNMC College of Medicine students in the class of 2028, who traveled to Mexico as a part of UNMC’s Scott Scholars partnership with the University of Anáhuac Veracruz. Lunch will be provided for the first 20 participants.

Friendsgiving
6 p.m., Durham Research Center Commons
Join a delicious celebration of friendship, food and fun. Bring a favorite dish to share and enjoy flavors from around the world at the friendsgiving potluck. Come hungry and ready to share good food, great company and the spirit of community.
