Greg Bennett, DMD, has been appointed executive associate dean of the UNMC College of Dentistry.

The appointment was announced April 1 by Dean Gerard Kugel, DMD, PhD, in an all-college message.

Dr. Bennett, who has served as interim executive associate dean since August 2025, said he was honored to step into the role permanently and grateful for the trust of the college’s leadership.

“My focus remains where it has always been: on our students, our faculty and the patients we serve,” Dr. Bennett said. “There’s meaningful work ahead, particularly as we continue to advance our digital dentistry initiatives and implement the Rural Health Transformation Program, and I’m energized by what this college can accomplish.”

In making the announcement, Dr. Kugel pointed to Dr. Bennett’s outstanding leadership and support to the college in the interim role, where he worked closely with faculty, staff and students on a wide range of academic, clinical and operational initiatives.

“He continues to be an accomplished educator, researcher and clinician,” Dr. Kugel said. “His work in digital dentistry and 3D printing technologies has helped position the college at the forefront of innovation in dental education and clinical practice.”

In addition, Dr. Kugel praised Dr. Bennett’s leadership, collaborative approach and commitment to the mission of the college. “Dr. Bennett has earned the respect of his colleagues and students through his dedication to education, scholarship and patient care,” Dr. Kugel said. “He will continue to play a critical role in advancing the mission and strategic goals of the UNMC College of Dentistry.”
