Children’s Nebraska will host its annual Pediatric Pain Conference Friday, May 1, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event will be held virtually.
The conference will examine current topics in pediatric pain through lectures and case presentations led by interdisciplinary specialists. Sessions will highlight practical approaches to pediatric pain management for both outpatient and inpatient settings, incorporating pharmacologic and integrative strategies alongside patient and parent education.
The keynote speaker is Jacob AuBuchon, MD, director of pediatric pain management and director of medical student education at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and associate professor of anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. AuBuchon will address “An Interdisciplinary Approach to Chronic Pain.”
Topics include:
- Management of post-operative surgical pain after pectus excavatum repair and applications of liposomal bupivacaine.
- Thoracic nerve blocks for pain management.
- Pain management after surgery: A hospitalist perspective.
- Peri- and post-operative pain management for bladder exstrophy patients.
- The Nebraska Prescription Drug Monitoring Program.
There is no cost to attend, but advance registration is required.
Continuing education credits for CME, CNE, pharmacology, DEA MATE and State of Nebraska Opiate Prescriber are pending.
