Congratulations to the newest AOA inductees

Noah Svec, MD, Robert Guidangen, MD, and Alec Seei, DO, were inducted at the event.

Three residents from the UNMC Department of Anesthesiology were inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society at the spring banquet on May 6.

Robert Guidangen, MD, Alec Seei, DO, and Noah Svec, MD, were elected as house officer members of the Alpha Omega Alpha Nebraska Chapter in recognition of their scholastic excellence, integrity, professional skill and compassion.

Alpha Omega Alpha is the most prestigious national medical honor society in the United States, dedicated to promoting scholarship, research and the highest standards of character in medicine.

“I was honored and humbled to be inducted into the AOA,” Dr. Svec said. “As I move forward in my training and career, I know I can come back to the AOA’s values and mission and be on the right track.”

Dr. Guidangen reflected on the community that shaped his growth. “I am humbled to be recognized among very inspiring and accomplished peers. My professional growth and the opportunity to thrive have been a direct result of the faculty, my coworkers and most importantly, the patients of our community. It is a privilege to practice medicine, and I am grateful to be able to commit to a life of service to others as reflected in the AOA mission.”

Residency program director, Andrea Dutoit, MD, congratulated the newest inductees on this well-deserved honor. “Drs. Seei, Svec and Guidangen exemplify the qualities we strive to cultivate in every resident — not only clinical excellence, but integrity, compassion and a genuine commitment to their patients and colleagues,” she said. “This recognition is well deserved, and I couldn’t be prouder of what they represent for our program and for the future of medicine.”
