The Munroe-Meyer Institute’s occupational therapy summer camps offer children fun, engaging opportunities to build new skills, make friends and create lasting memories. This summer, campers can explore a variety of interests through camps focused on handwriting, LEGO building, shoe tying, cooking, social skills and movement activities.
For children participating in both occupational therapy camps and Camp Munroe, the occupational therapy and recreational therapy teams work closely together to ensure smooth, safe transitions between activities so campers can enjoy a full day of summer fun.
Each camp is designed to help children learn and practice important life skills through play, creativity and peer interaction. In Cooking Skills Camp, campers work together to plan and prepare simple recipes while learning kitchen safety, meal preparation and adaptive cooking strategies. Campers build confidence and independence while having fun with their peers.
Handwriting and Shoe-Tying Camps focus on developing fine motor, visual motor and self-care skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. LEGO and Social Skills Camps promote teamwork, communication, problem-solving and friendship-building through hands-on activities and collaborative projects.
Our campers, families and staff look forward to these experiences each year. We love watching children grow in confidence, learn new skills and have fun all summer long!
