Better Processes Initiative opens training opportunities

Registration is open for the first Green Belt Certification training sessions through the Better Processes Initiative, UNMC’s new process improvement program.

Sessions will be offered quarterly for faculty and staff interested in developing practical process improvement skills and leading operational improvement initiatives within their respective areas.

“Our Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training will empower you to improve your work, making it more efficient, effective and customer-focused,” said Matt Singh, UNMC’s director of Lean and process improvement.

A phased approach to training supports the thoughtful integration of Lean Six Sigma methodologies, while helping to ensure alignment, sustainability and long-term success of improvement efforts.

More information about the certification program, the Better Processes Initiative, and the team behind it can be found on the initiative’s webpage on the UNMC intranet. There, UNMC employees also can learn more about Lean Six Sigma and find templates and other materials.

In addition, the site invites employees to submit ideas to improve a process, reduce an operational barrier or solve a recurring challenge.
