Mike Wadman, MD, the Robert L. Muelleman, MD, Chair of Emergency Medicine., speaks with candidate Ted Japp.

Ted Japp, a candidate running to represent District 16 in the Nebraska Legislature, visited UNMC on Aug. 28. District 16, in northeast Nebraska, includes Burt, Cuming and Washington counties and part of Stanton County.

During his visit, Japp met with UNMC Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, and Jeff Kratz, UNMC’s director of government relations, for an overview of the academic health sciences center. He capped his visit touring the emergency department with Mike Wadman, MD, the Robert L. Muelleman, MD, Chair of Emergency Medicine.

“It is a busy place,” Japp said after walking through the crowded emergency department on a Friday afternoon. “If I ever needed an emergency room, I am confident I would receive excellent care here.”

Japp also said he enjoyed meeting with Chancellor Davies, adding “he’s an engaging person and Nebraska is fortunate to have him in that position.”

This visit does not represent an endorsement of any candidate or political party by UNMC, the University of Nebraska System, or the NU Board of Regents.
