Bill Bowes, a candidate running to represent Legislative District 14, visited UNMC on Sept. 15. The district, in north-central Sarpy County, includes portions of La Vista and Papillion.
Bowes started his campus visit by meeting with UNMC Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.
Bowes said he’s pleased to have a hospital and academic research facility in the area — for the services provided and for its economic impact across the state. It stood out, he said, how much area is served by UNMC.
“I’m very thankful they’re here,” Bowes said. “It’s impressive and I appreciate the work that’s being done here.”
