This month, the UNMC Omaha campus is partnering with Kohll’s Rx to offer on-campus flu vaccine clinics for UNMC faculty and staff.
Employees may choose to receive their flu vaccine at one of the Kohll’s Rx on-campus clinics or through another vaccination provider. UNMC employees in Kearney, Lincoln, Norfolk and Scottsbluff are encouraged to receive their flu vaccination from their local pharmacy or healthcare provider.
In Omaha, the on-campus clinics – which are separate from both the Nebraska Medicine and student flu vaccine clinics – will be available only to UNMC faculty and staff who register in advance (to verify employment, individuals also must bring their UNMC ID badge to the appointment). Walk-in appointments may be available on a limited basis; walk-ins must still register prior to receiving their vaccine.
Registration is now open for the following Kohll’s Rx on-campus flu vaccine clinics:
- Wednesday, Oct. 14 – 7:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m., Sorrell Center, Truhlsen Campus Events Center.
- Thursday, Oct. 15 – 7:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m., Durham Research Center, atrium.
- Thursday, Oct. 22 – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Sorrell Center, Truhlsen Campus Events Center.
- Friday, Oct. 23 – 7:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m., University Towers, Private Dining Room A & B.
- Tuesday, Oct. 27 – 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Sorrell Center, Truhlsen Campus Events Center.
- Thursday, Oct. 29 – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., University Towers, Private Dining Room A & B.
Standard-dose and high-dose flu vaccines will be available. COVID-19 vaccine will not be available at the Kohll’s Rx on-campus clinics.
Insurance information
Employees with insurance coverage should upload their insurance card information during registration. Kohll’s Rx will bill insurance providers directly for flu vaccines.
The University of Nebraska health plan, administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, includes a flu shot benefit for employees who have completed their Health Risk Assessment.
Employees covered by other insurance plans also may receive their flu vaccinations at Kohll’s Rx on-campus clinics. Employees with non-NU insurance plans are encouraged to review their benefits before registering. Many major health insurance plans cover flu vaccinations at little or no cost.
Log your flu vaccination
As in previous years, UNMC employees are asked to record their vaccination status in the Health Tracking System, regardless of where they received their flu vaccine.
