Dr. Kanmogne to serve on NIH review committee

Georgette Kanmogne, Ph.D., associate professor in the department of pharmacology and experimental neurosciences, was recently appointed to a scientific review committee by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Dr. Kanmogne will serve on the NeuroAIDS and Other End-Organ Diseases Study Section through June 30, 2013.

Members of this committee are selected on the basis of their competence and achievement in their scientific discipline as evidenced by the quality of their research and publications in scientific journals, achievements and honors.

“Membership on a study section represents a major commitment of professional time and energy, as well as a unique opportunity to contribute to the national biomedical research effort,” said Toni Scarpa, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Center for Scientific Review at the NIH. “Dr. Kanmogne has the qualities – mature judgment, objectivity and the ability to work well in a group – needed for this important task.”
