Officials from the Bellevue Medical Center, The Nebraska Medical Center and other local organizations cut the ribbons on Bellevue’s new hospital during an open house on Saturday.

Nearly 3,000 people attended the open house.

“There was a constant stream of people all afternoon,” said Crista Madsen, director of communications for The Nebraska Medical Center. “It was really encouraging to see that much community support. It shows how much the people want this hospital and can’t wait for it to open.”

The 266,000-square foot, full-service hospital at Highway 370 and 25th Street will utilize the most advanced technology and equipment to provide patients the highest level of health care available.

The hospital will open to patients on May 17.
