UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., and College of Public Health Dean Ayman El-Mohandes, M.B.B.Ch., M.D., M.P.H., met with Bambang Wispriyono, Ph.D., dean of the school of public health at the University of Indonesia; and Lamis Ragab, M.D., vice dean for postgraduate studies and research at Cairo University on Thursday. Drs. Wispriyono and Ragab were on campus to discuss possible research and educational partnerships with the College of Public Health.

Carol LaCroix, M.D., clinical associate professor of family medicine, has been elected president-elect of the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians.

The Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska — part of the UNMC psychiatry department — will host a statewide conference today on health information technology. About 60 participants from UNMC and other groups from throughout the state, including the governor’s office, will attend.
