UNMC invites refugees to June 21 health fair

The University of Nebraska Medical Center invites refugees to attend its fifth Bridge to Care Health Fair on Saturday, June 21, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Benson High School gym, 5120 Maple St. The event will provide free health screenings during Omaha’s World Refugee Day.

Bridge to Care is an interprofessional, community engaged and student-led legacy project of the Service Learning Academy in the UNMC College of Public Health.

The health fair also will feature:

• Dental screening;

• Vision screening with free glasses for those in need;

• Blood pressure screening;

• Blood sugar testing;

• Body mass index testing; and

• Health education.
