Kate Buehler, sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) with Nebraska Medicine Emergency Services, will speak at the next Olson Center Brown Bag Luncheon, from noon-1 p.m. on March 17 at the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.
Buehler will dscuss “Why SANE Nursing? A Holistic Approach to Caring for Survivors After Sexual Assault.”
Sexual assault is a traumatic experience, and it may be difficult for the survivor to seek care. Buehler will outline how often it occurs in Nebraska and the United States and what patients can expect when they seek care. She also will outline the nurse’s role in the examination and medical treatment plan.

The lectures are free. To obtain nursing credit, the cost is $10. Payment instructions will be given at pre-registration.
