UNMC College of Nursing’s Continuing interprofessional Development and Innovation (CiPDI) will partner with the Nebraska affiliate of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Society for the fourth annual Nebraska Affiliate of conference, “Pursuit to Excellence: Wound, Ostomy and Continence Management.”
The event will be held April 21 from 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Scott Conference Center at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. CiPDI will provide 6.5 contact hours. APRNs can obtain pharmacotherapeutic credit from various topics this year. Visit this site to learn more and register.
The Nebraska affiliate of the WOCN Society also will host another event, “Ostomy Workshop: Building a Foundation,” on April 20 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the UNMC Omaha campus. This workshop provides hands-on ostomy management skills for all nurses in a variety of settings providing 6.25 contact hours. Visit this site for more information.
The target audience for both events are nurses and other health care professionals involved in wound, ostomy, continence and foot care.

As the aging population continues to rise, so will comorbidities resulting in wound, ostomy and continence issues. Health care professionals need to understand the various approaches to these specialty areas to further improve the health of patients with already debilitating diseases or illnesses.
The two events will provide nurses across the state and beyond with the tools and resources necessary to care for patients with wounds, ostomies and continence related issues with targeted training from experts in the field, many of whom are UNMC and Nebraska Medicine providers and clinicians:
