E-OnCall, the campus’ new online OnCall system, is now available for employees to view on NHS WebSource, the hospital Intranet. E-OnCall is a one-stop, Web-based application that contains all on-call schedules for hospital-based departments, academic departments and private practice physicians. See story for details.

New version of LastWord computer system to go live
The LastWord information system will be upgraded in March. The new system is named Carecast. Final plans are underway to implement this new version, which is currently used by NHS, UNMC and UMA.

NHS sets groundbreaking for Clinical Center for Excellence
NHS will have a groundbreaking ceremony for the Center for Clinical Excellence Thursday, Nov. 21, at 10:30 a.m. in the grassy area between the Clarkson Tower and the Eppley Institute.

90 percent of campus trash can be recycled
Nearly 90 percent of the trash generated on the UNMC/NHS campus can be recycled. Employees can assist in the recycling efforts and help divert loads of material from the local dump just by taking the extra step to drop recyclable items in the recycling bins.
