Thank ‘U’ Program changes announced; medallion redemption resumes Aug. 15

The enthusiasm regarding UNMC’s Thank ‘U’ Program was evident Tuesday morning.
Minutes after Human Resources Director John Russell announced changes to the program at a morning forum, the phones started ringing at the desks of Tony Huerta and Jim Wiegel, the personnel techs in Human Resources who are on the front line of the program.

Binhammer’s teaching earns respect, appreciation

In the 10-week gross anatomy course that he coordinates, Robert Binhammer, Ph.D., introduces students to the rigors of medical school. He knows that the first-year students see him as demanding. He also, however, earns their respect. This is the third in a series of articles that profile the winners of this year’s Outstanding Teaching Awards. They will be presented the awards at the Annual Faculty Meeting, which begins at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, in the Durham Research Center auditorium.
