When it opens on Nov. 10, the Hixson-Lied Center for Clinical Excellence will be home to the largest emergency department in the Midwest. In fact, patients would have to travel to Chicago or Denver to find one of equal size, security and technology.

Hixson-Lied Center for Clinical Excellence is unveiled
Today’s grand opening of the Hixson-Lied Center for Clinical Excellence unlocks the future home for the largest emergency department in the Midwest, more than 25 state-of-the-art operating rooms, radiology equipment that can scan the body in 10 seconds and a Newborn Intensive Care Unit designed around the tiniest patients.

All UNMC, UMA and The Nebraska Medical Center employees, students and their families are invited to stop by the Joslyn Art Museum on Sunday, Oct. 30, and participate in an afternoon of artful fun. The free Passport Partners Family Day runs from 1 to 4 p.m. and includes making animal masks and Halloween treat bags, guided tours of John James Audubon’s exhibit, and cookies and punch.
