Maxwell to Serve on AAIM Workgroup
Erin Maxwell, administrator, Education Program, was invited to serve on the Members Service Workgroup of the Internal Medicine Residency Program Administrators portion of the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine. According to Michelle Herbers, chair of the workgroup, the group is a small group of administrators who create and distribute the PA Newsletter twice per year, coordinate and manage the PA Mentor/Mentee program and collaborate to present at national meetings. Maxwell will attend their fall and spring meetings.

Duan Awarded AHA Scientist Development Grant
Bin Duan, PhD, assistant professor, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine was recently awarded an American Heart Association Scientist Development grant. The title is “Bio-inspired engineered pediatric valve regulates MSC differentiation and MSC-monocyte interaction.”

More than one hundred community members, patients and Nebraska Medicine colleagues recently commemorated Brentwood Village’s new clinic location at 8604 Giles Road. On July 12, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held, along with an open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
