A note about the campus drug policy
UNMC employees are required to adhere to the Drug-Free Workplace Policy, which prohibits employees from the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession or use of alcohol and/or a controlled substance on UNMC property. The term “substance” refers to drug or chemical compounds that are controlled by local, state, or federal law. UNMC complies with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, as amended.

UNMC pharmacology journal receives high rating
Four years ago Howard Gendelman, M.D., chairman of the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience, partnered with the Society on NeuroImmune Pharmacology and Springer Publishers to create the Journal of Neuroimmune Pharmacology. In a field already crowded with journals, it was unclear whether another one would make it.

H1N1 FluMist available for priority groups, more on the way
The Nebraska Medical Center has received its initial shipment of the novel H1N1 influenza vaccine. The first shipment is extremely limited and will be distributed to reach the high-risk target population stipulated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
