Earth Week: Reusable contest entries up for vote

by Nicole Lindquist, UNMC public relations | April 23, 2014

More than 40 repurposed/reused items will be displayed online today as part of the "ReUse It" challenge organized by LiveGreen to celebrate Earth Week at UNMC.

From furniture to clothing to everything in between, employees and students at the med center can vote for their favorites by clicking here.

"We're hopeful these ideas will inspire others to try some of the projects in their homes," said Melanie Stewart, LiveGreen coordinator, "so please go check out the items and vote for your favorites."

All entrants will receive a thermal mug good for a discount on coffee at the Nebraska Cafe and an "Energy Advocate" lanyard for participating.

LiveGreen also plans an electronics recycling event for Thursday and a tree planting and Tree Campus USA celebration for Friday. Visit the campus Earth Week website for more details.
