The search committee for the new vice chancellor of research at UNMC is close to naming finalists for the position and has scheduled virtual forums with the candidates on the following dates:

  • Thursday, June 23
  • June 27
  • June 28
  • June 30
  • July 12

Each forum will be from 12-1 p.m.

Each finalist for the position will meet the UNMC community during a campus visit and participate in a virtual forum via Zoom. The candidates will introduce themselves, present their vision for UNMC and the VCR office and take questions.

Jennifer Larsen, MD, who has been the vice chancellor of research since 2011, announced in December 2021 that she would be stepping down from that role this year. She is not retiring and remains the Degen Professor of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at UNMC, a position she has held since 1987.
