Marie Reidelbach will become the interim director of the McGoogan Library of Medicine on June 30.

With a national search underway for a successor to retiring director Nancy Woelfl, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate Studies Dele Davies, M.D., announced Monday that Reidelbach had accepted the interim position.

Reidelbach is currently the associate director for user services of the library. She has been affiliated with UNMC for more than 25 years.

Since 1998, Reidelbach has directed all user service departments, including reference, interlibrary loan, circulation, education and graphics. As a senior member of the McGoogan Library faculty, she has been actively involved in planning, evaluating information resources and promoting library resources to constituents both on and off campus.

In his announcement to library staff, Dr. Davies thanked Reidelbach for taking on the interim director’s role. In reference to the ongoing search for a permanent successor for Dr. Woelfl, he told library staff: “Based on the strong slate of interested candidates, I am optimistic that we will be able to get an excellent new leader.”
