The magazine publishes its “Best of Omaha” issue annually, drawing on votes from readers to select the top businesses, entertainment venues, services and other honorees in many categories. For the Best of Omaha 2016, UNMC was listed second as the city’s “Best Employer, More than 100 employees” and MMI was listed third as “Best Family Behavior Therapy.”

“This is tremendous recognition for UNMC and is indicative of what a great work environment we have here,” said UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D. “It’s especially encouraging to receive feedback like this. It demonstrates that our employees appreciate the opportunity they’ve been given to go to work each day at a world-class academic health center. It makes me feel quite proud, and going forward, I can assure our employees that the UNMC leadership team is committed to making it an even better place to build their careers.”

Wayne Stuberg, Ph.D., interim director of the Munroe-Meyer Institute, announced the honor to his staff at MMI’s annual holiday party.

“This recognition by the Omaha community is a testament to the dedication of the staff at MMI,” Dr. Stuberg said. “We often jokingly call MMI ‘the best-kept secret in town,’ but this honor shows that the Omaha community is becoming more aware of MMI and all the ways we help children and adults with disabilities and their families.”

The December issue of Omaha Magazine is on sale now.
