Shaunna Briles

  • Name: Shaunna Briles
  • Hometown: Atlantic, Iowa
  • Number of years at UNMC: One year as of Jan. 13, 2017.

Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.
I work with the iEXCEL program, which focuses on improving patient care outcomes by transforming the way we educate and train our health care professionals.

I provide administrative support to our executive leadership team, assist with event management, schedule our iEXCEL Visualization Hub tours/demos and assist with PR/marketing efforts. Our team is new, and the excitement is wonderful.

Excellence is one of UNMC’s ITEACH values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group at UNMC exhibit this value.
We have a new iEXCEL visualization team that has really showcased excellence from the start. When asked to create a digital name unveiling of our new building (Dr. Edwin Davis & Dorothy Balbach Davis Global Center for Advanced Interprofessional Learning – currently under construction at UNMC) for our groundbreaking ceremony, they gladly accepted the challenge. With limited time (two weeks!), they worked hard to produce an extraordinary video that was revealed during the ceremony. Check it out.

What is your favorite spring activity?
I love spending time with my family outside, whether it’s taking our 8-month-old German Shepherd puppy (Dezmond) to the park or chasing Pokemon together at the zoo. It’s always an adventure that I welcome.

List three things people may not know about you.

  • I am left-handed.
  • I have one set of blonde eyelashes and one brown.
  • I love all genres of music and am an avid concertgoer.
