Blood drives on campus this week

Two Red Cross blood drive are scheduled for campus this week.

Spots are still open and walk-ins are welcome for the blood drive being hosted by the UNMC Student Senate Wednesday.

The drive will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Truhlsen Events Center in the Sorrell Center.

Nebraska Medicine also will host a blood drive Thursday from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. in Lower Storz. A $5 Target gift card is offered to those who attempt to donate.

Appointments can be made online at redcrossblood.org; enter UNMCStudentSenate to search for the Wednesday drive and NebraskaMedicine for the Thursday drive. Bring an ID card when you come to donate blood.

There also will be a blood drive at the Center for Healthy Living on Sept. 14.
