Take a Garden Walk this Sunday; tickets on sale for 52nd annual Garden Walk

Tickets are on sale for the Munroe-Meyer Guild's 52nd annual Garden Walk, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 13.

The Garden Walk will feature unique and creative ideas in landscaping, planting and patio treatments. In past years, the event has drawn more than 1,500 garden enthusiasts from the Omaha metro area.

"We are thrilled to showcase five beautiful gardens on our 52nd Garden Walk after we had to cancel the Walk last year," said Luann Rabe, president of the Munroe-Meyer Guild. "The homeowners have told me that, since they had an additional year to improve their gardens, they will be spectacular. Each garden is so unique, creative and a delight to explore. As in the past, we will have our great vendors, including a couple of new vendors. Plan to make a day of exploring these five innovative and beautiful gardens."

Proceeds from the fundraiser, which will be held rain or shine, will benefit children and adults with disabilities through various programs and research efforts at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Munroe-Meyer Institute. Services available at MMI include genetic counseling, speech therapy, physical and occupational therapy, developmental pediatrics, behavioral therapy and recreational therapy.

This year's event will feature five private gardens in the Papillion area. The event also will feature vendors at the gardens, including:

Adam Weiss Custom Copper Design – Crimped, pounded and heated copper create nature-inspired, whimsical garden art to be enjoyed year round;
