I am in my third year of a three-year hematology/oncology fellowship. I’ve been at UNMC since 2016.

What do you like the most about your training program?

The camaraderie, collegiality, and working beside national/world cancer experts. UNMC is a great place to learn.

What challenges do you foresee in graduate medical education in the future?

Continuing to provide virtual opportunities while maintaining the importance of in-person collaboration, networking and learning. Emphasis on tele-health to help provide those in underserved areas with better access to care.

List some accomplishments that you are proud of:

Never giving up on my dream to become a doctor and future hematologist/oncologist. You are the only one who knows your true potential; it’s your duty to live up to it.

Tell us three things about you that others may not know:

  • I start a countdown to Christmas on Dec. 26.
  • I played NCAA Division II women’s soccer throughout college. Go Lions!
  • I was almost on an MTV reality dating show. Instead I started dating my now-husband.
