Olson Center to discuss nutrition’s role in cancer prevention

Rebecca Beaudoin, an outpatient oncology nutrition therapist for the Nebraska Medicine Department of Clinical Nutrition, will present “The Food We Eat: Nutrition’s Role in Cancer Prevention and Survivorship” on Oct. 18 at noon. The webinar is part of the Olson Center for Women’s Health Brown Bag lecture series.

Beaudoin will cover how people can help prevent cancer by the foods they choose. Learn practical tips for walking to a plant-based lifestyle.

The event is free and open to the community. Nursing credit is available for $10. Register by calling the Olson Women’s Health Resource Center at 402-559-6345, emailing the Olson Center at OlsonWHRC@unmc.edu or through Engage. The Zoom link will be emailed to registrants prior to the event.

In support of improving patient care, the activity has been planned and implemented by UNMC and the  Olson Center for Women’s Health. UNMC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the health care team.

UNMC designates the activity for 1.0 ANCC contact hour. Nurses should claim credit only for the actual time spent participating in the activity.
