Reminder: Masks required in clinical spaces

The UNMC community is reminded that surgical masks are required in clinical spaces on the med center campus, including all areas of the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.

“Although masks are not required in education and research spaces, we must continue to be good campus partners and mask up in clinical spaces to protect our patients, including those who are immunocompromised,” said Jane Meza, PhD, interim executive director of the office of health security.

Individuals walking into clinical spaces are required to wear a mask, including in hallways. When entering clinical areas from non-clinical spaces, be sure to wear a mask and pay attention to signage that indicates masks are required.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to carry their own mask while on campus, but, if needed, masks can be found at the following entrances:

  • Bellevue Health Center
  • Clarkson Doctors Building North, level one
  • Clarkson Doctors Building South, level one
  • Lauritzen Outpatient Center
  • Truhlsen Eye Institute
  • UNMC College of Dentistry
  • UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute
